Course Overview

When a major trauma patient arrives, the clinical environment becomes high-pressure and chaotic. Survival depends entirely on a fast, highly organised, and systematic response. This flagship module provides a masterclass in the initial assessment and emergency stabilisation of major trauma patients within pre-hospital and emergency care environments. Clinicians will learn to command the trauma bay, implement time-critical primary surveys, and confidently manage life-threatening injuries.

Why This Course Matters

This training focuses on mastering the ABCDE approach, enabling clinicians to rapidly identify and manage immediate threats to the Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, and Exposure of critically injured patients. Participants will learn how to de-escalate chaos through effective leadership, using clear communication, defined role allocation, and structured trauma protocols to improve team performance and patient outcomes. The course also develops expertise in damage control resuscitation by exploring the physiology of shock and major haemorrhage, equipping clinicians with the knowledge and confidence to deliver advanced fluid resuscitation and blood product therapy in high-pressure trauma situations.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This elite module is built specifically for healthcare professionals operating on the absolute frontline of emergency trauma response:

  • Medical Students looking to master trauma physiology and emergency medicine.
  • Junior Doctors & Foundation Trainees entering critical care rotations or trauma centres.
  • Nurses & Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) managing high-acuity trauma resuscitations.
  • Emergency Medicine, Trauma, & Critical Care Clinicians leading resuscitation teams.
  • Pre-hospital & Ambulance Professionals (Paramedics, HEMS) executing life-saving field triage.

COURSE FORMAT

  • Flexible E-learning: Self-paced remote learning featuring highly interactive clinical cases, algorithmic decision trees, and expert-guided explanations.
  • Face-to-Face Teaching: High-energy, classroom-based workshops utilising facilitated peer discussions, real-world case applications, and clinician-led teaching.
